Operational since October 2011, BuyIn is the 50/50 Procurement Joint Venture between Deutsche Telekom and Orange. The young company combines the approximately 13 billion euros of annual spend of the two companies in three main fields: Network, Customer Equipment and Service Platforms. It also offers a Procurement Engineering expertise, based on the value-driven Design-to-Cost approach.
The Brussels-based company, which also has offices in Paris and Bonn, is headed by Volker Pyrtek, Chief Procurement Officer of the Procurement Joint Venture of Deutsche Telekom and Orange.
By pooling their procurement activities in this equal joint venture, the parent companies expect to achieve sustainable economies of scale and deliver annual savings through best price alignment, the aggregation of volumes, the harmonization of specifications and improved collaboration between the countries and corporate. Suppliers will also benefit from the standardized equipment used by these European network operators.
A total of 250 employees work for BuyIn at the main locations in Paris and Bonn.
